The U.S. needs real heroes and public safety professionals to help protect human rights. The U.S. does not need power hungry bullies trying to control the lives of citizens. It is time to make a change.

Ray Tensing, who pleaded not guilty to the murder of Sam DuBose, has been released on bail. Tensing shot and killed DuBose who was stopped for not having a front license plate.

Sandra Bland was stopped by a police officer for allegedly failing to signal a lane change, but this traffic stop escalated into an arrest and resulting in suicide while in police custody. But friends and family claim she was not suicidal.

Citizens talk about the issues of race and racial violence without taking into consideration the economic, bureaucratic, and political systems of exploitation involved. Police brutality and racism cannot be solved unless we turn to the issue of structural racism.

Three sheriff’s deputies have recently been charged with mishandling an arrestee of civil rights. Conspiracy, to deprive an individual of civil rights, is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
