While dodging an overt clash for now, Biden is on a collision course with grassroots Democrats across the country who are learning more about his actual record and don’t like it.

Denial of that reality could help him win the party’s nomination -- and then help Donald Trump get re-elected.

“We’ve run out of elections to waste,” and a presidential contest between such climate policy empty suits as Trump and Biden would be a suicidal waste of the timeliest election for climate policy ever.

“Joe Biden has called climate change an existential threat and in the coming weeks will release a bold proposal that addresses climate change in a lasting and meaningful way.”

We need a populist GND – championed by a principled populist like Sanders – to sweep today’s criminally insane Republicans (whom Biden likes so much) into the dustbin of history.

"A 'middle ground' policy that's supportive of more fossil fuel development is a death sentence for our generation and the millions of people on the frontlines of the climate crisis," said co-founder of the Sunrise Movement.

The nickname that corporate media have bestowed on him, “Lunch Bucket Joe,” is wide of the mark. A bull’s-eye is “Wall Street Joe.”

On the basis of this record, the former VP hardly seems like the best person to heal the divisions so fiercely stoked by Donald Trump, the Republican Party and well funded right-wing media over the last few years.

I am happy to point out that Bernie raised a lot of money in a single day and no one in the media (except LA Progressive and yours truly, plus a lot of tweets and Reddit postings), pointed this out.

Biden has already seen his share of coverage, and was the second-most-mentioned Democratic candidate on cable news during the first three months of 2019.
