The UAW warns that the Trump-Vance ticket threatens Michigan’s economic future by jeopardizing a $500 million federal grant for an electric vehicle plant, while highlighting the Biden-Harris administration’s investment in American manufacturing and union jobs.

Chosen applicants will have access to up to $14,000 in incentives toward the purchase of a new or used EV or hybrid with larger cost incentives given to those that trade in their older vehicles for scrap.

Biden said the new tariffs are about "fair competition" after his aides determined that "imports of Chinese products made from aluminum and steel" were "selling the metals at prices that were falsely low to deplete the market share."
