MAGA married to the mob-ster: no divorce ever

In deadly lockstep is MAGA mated,/ To rise and fall as Trump is fated.

If naive folks harbored a doubt,
The right the rule of law will flout,
The shunned Constitution put to flight,
Hear howling at Trump’s indicted blight.

Unreason abounds, front and center:
Wary DA assailed as tormenter?
The burlesque savior upon a cross –
Can justice “witch-hunt” a mob boss?

Cheers! Trump’s no longer untouchable;
The crime boss looks damn culpable;
As MAGA loudmouths mock the law,
The relieved left voices a loud guffaw.

What idiocy to assail a trial
Without a clue what will be filed;
Now that’s a weaponized witch-hunt —
A buffoonish, self-wounding stunt!

But fans’ dim cultist, thuggish protests
Cement no turning back, no regress:
In deadly lockstep is MAGA mated,
To rise and fall as Trump is fated.

When endless crimes are fully arraigned,
MAGA enablers will be enchained:
Conviction stamps all marks with guilt,
Disgraced for backing Trump’s crazy quilt.

As Trump goes down – and down he will,
The deranged get sucked into the swill;
Bizarro loyalty seals their fate,
Enforcers of violence, spite and hate.

To let creeps en masse escape the law
Shreds governance like a chainsaw;
When fair elections are defied with lies –
Should not all culprits be penalized?

When a crooked loser justice defies,
Should not a trial expose fake alibis?
Either vile Trumpism is ostracized,
Or banish claims we’re civilized.

For over a decade, Robert S. Becker's independent, rebel-rousing essays on politics and culture analyze overall trends, history, implications, messaging and frameworks. He has been published widely, aside from Nation of Change and RSN, with extensive credits from OpEdNews (as senior editor), Alternet, Salon, Truthdig, Smirking Chimp, Dandelion Salad, Beyond Chron, and the SF Chronicle. Educated at Rutgers College, N.J. (B.A. English) and U.C. Berkeley (Ph.D. English), Becker left university teaching (Northwestern, then U. Chicago) for business, founding SOTA Industries, a top American high end audio company he ran from '80 to '92. From '92-02, he was an anti-gravel mining activist while doing marketing, business and writing consulting. Since then, he seeks out insight, even wit in the shadows, without ideology or righteousness across the current mayhem of American politics.
