The massive roadblocks standing in the way of American greatness

Can the America of today be considered one of the greatest nations in the world?

Did I just hear someone say, “wait a minute, America is already a very great country?” Well, I guess that’s the general belief that’s been planted in the minds of Americans for some time now. Very sad to say, it’s just not the case, and here are various reasons why:

First of all, I’m going to continue to hammer on and harangue about this out-of-control situation in which there are hundreds of mass shootings and many thousands of Americans slaughtered by guns all over this country. America will never become a great nation until it finally addresses this monstrous problem and has teaders who will VOW to address and solve it.

This is such a horrific situation that there is nowhere in this country, not one place, where you or I or our kids or grandchildren can go, where we cannot be gunned down, probably by some kind of military-style assault weapon. Our kids are being slaughtered in schools across this country on and on and on. There have been 67 mass shootings in America so far this year; and, not a thing is being done about it by the weak-kneed, cowardly, corporate-controlled politicians in Washington who see these kids being mowed down and just don’t give a damn. They are called Republicans.

These Republican politicians are complicit in these murders, it’s murder by association of these children and other Americans. Anyone of them that blocks solid gun legislation should be, in effect, indicted, convicted, and jailed but they remain above any law. They are the worst kind of human beings who have the power, no question about that, and absolutely refuse to use it to stop these never-ending slaughters.

And, I must say that Democrats are not doing nearly enough to force Republicans to do something. They should be shouting from the rooftops, they have the power to kill the filibuster and enact appropriate legislation but they let some within their ranks protect this tool of obstruction. Biden should be yelling from his Bully Pulpit but, we can barely hear his soft and silent condolences after a mass shooting. Get moving Democrats, and stop vacillating!

We can’t continue to allow this madness to go on and we need to do something really different to FORCE the Repubs to do what is right and stop these monstrous mass shootings. The media must be a big part of these efforts. Have the most powerful print and T.V. media show the pictures of the 5 Republicans who are doing the most to block efforts to solve this massive problem. I would suggest the five as Jim Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, and Ron Johnson. The media can choose their own subjects as they wish of course.

I further suggest that these 5 Republicans should be identified as complicit and their pictures should be shown after each mass shooting, together with appropriate reporting. It might be good to change the pictures from time to time to give various other Republican “blockers” equal time. Think of it as a Rogues Gallery. This might serve to get Americans to finally say enough is “enough and we won’t take it anymore,” and motivate them to hit the streets all over this country.

Innocent little children are being slaughtered and those in charge who refuse to address and solve the problem. This is now a dark stain on the soul of America!

Can a nation such as America that has the power to stop this continuing carnage, but will not, be considered great? Absolutely not, not a chance! This shows that this current American society, with so many murderers within it, is one of the most dangerous in the world. Think not, totally disagree? Then open your eyes, watch the carnage happening right before them, and think more deeply.

Now, let’s talk about the highest court in the land, the U.S. Supreme Court. This court, at the top of the U.S. Justice System, should be the perfect model for all courts in this country, it should be totally above all outside influences, and it should refuse to be politicized. That was once the case with various Supreme Courts in past years and decades. Very sad to say, that now is not the case as the current court is heavily politicized and its Republican justices no longer even try to hide that fact.

After sticking its political knife into Roe v. Wade, this corrupted court clearly showed that it has no credibility whatsoever. There was no good reason, no justification whatsoever, for doing that. Was that law in some way unconstitutional? That’s just plain laughable, but a highly dangerous sign for more of the same political decisions to follow.

And then we have the part of the U.S. justice system that has at least 5 investigations of Trump has been going on and on and on, literally for years. One after another grand juries have been opened, reports made, and no indictments of any kind. There is the supposed “leader of the pack”, who SNL has labeled as “Mousy” Merrick Garland. He has been investigating Trump for an eternity, possessing tons of evidence, but he seems to be scared to death to indict this master breaker of the law. All kinds of investigations, investigators, and grand juries, and Trump remains free as a bird, ready to run again in 2024.

It’s no secret that we in America are stuck with a useless, corporate-corrupted Congress. All those in it make $174,000 per year and the leaders make more. The real sickness in this legislative body is that so many of these politicians function under the control of lobbyists and special interests rather than doing what is right for their constituents and their country.

How about the great example of American freedom of speech, Donald J. Trump, one of the media’s greatest friends? Trump would never have been elected in 2016 except that the American media made him famous, they turned him into a household name. In his campaign to preach about a stolen election, they spread his words all over America a. It helped motivate his mind-conditioned followers to worship him as their hero and vote for him any time he runs.

This media gives him great exposure, even now while he is under numerous investigations and this exposure, even if it’s sometimes quite bad, continues to greatly motivate his base. It certainly helps the media to increase ratings. It also does a lot to hurt America but the media could care less.

Can America be considered a great nation because of its 22 million millionaires and 725 billionaires and Corporate America that is making mega-billions in profits and controlling Congress?

No, and what’s very disgusting is that its CEOs are making 399 times more than the average worker.

Then we have others in this country, 38 million living in poverty, nearly 600,000 homeless, 42 million living on food stamps, the 63% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck. A nation in which vast wealth is at the top while millions upon millions are struggling does not meet the definition of greatness. It’s not greatness, it’s shameful.

Here are some typical characteristics of a great nation with great leaders

*Clear, solid, objectives with leaders that have the knowledge and motivation to achieve them.

*Wealth, not only at the top, but also in a robust and thriving middle and lower class, and then initiate action.

*There is a justice system that brings lawbreakers to justice and is fair to all

*A nation with extensive global influence that is appreciated and welcomed.

*Possession of necessary military power, but is not used to dominate other nations or to ignite illegal wars.

*A nation with peace and prosperity where people work together for the common good.

*Strong leaders who inspire and motivate citizens to help initiate new developments.

*Government initiatives and actions designed to improve the lives of the nation’s citizens.

How many of these characteristics does the America of today possess? Can the America of today be considered one of the greatest nations in the world? I’m afraid a jury of its peers would decide that, sad to say, it’s not, it doesn’t meet the standards of a truly great nation.

But, it might be one day, if its government, its leaders, and its people adopt and follow the above-listed characteristics of a great nation.
