House demolition fits the Trump stunt dump: Déjà vu all over again

Yet nihilism makes its own reward,/ To trigger mayhem & lift the overlord.

Behold the method to MAGA madness –
And messages from disruptive badness;
Déjà vu as upstart insolence
Seeks out government impotence.

First did Reagan and vicious Gingrich
See federalism as bewitched;
Then Tea Partiers filled the tabloids
Before revving up Trump on steroids.

Awash with crude, cheap-shot ridicule,
He pulled off his primary misrule;
Faux ire, insults fueled his sleazy war,
His fitness con cloaked by cult uproar.

Deceitful torrents made adults wretch,
But that outdated “College” he did stretch;
Getting away with this double-cross,
The king of chaos made top crime boss.

The presidency was next to ruin
Bottomless norms for Trump to do in;
Made stupid by pandemic doomsday –
He struck out, dissing science as passé.

Next, re-election baffled this misfit,
Now the world’s reigning hypocrite;
But disgrace loomed, bitter life epilogue:
Time to raise stakes, go full demagogue.

No way out caused the D.C. barrage,
Pernicious election sabotage;
So amateur militants took command,
Betrayal caught in its own quicksand.

The coup defined Trump pollution,
Defiance of the Constitution;
Yet nihilism makes its own reward,
To trigger mayhem & lift the overlord.

And now the House demolition —
To weaponize an inquisition.
The only solution: conviction and jail,
Or bedlam for crazies beyond the pale.

For over a decade, Robert S. Becker's independent, rebel-rousing essays on politics and culture analyze overall trends, history, implications, messaging and frameworks. He has been published widely, aside from Nation of Change and RSN, with extensive credits from OpEdNews (as senior editor), Alternet, Salon, Truthdig, Smirking Chimp, Dandelion Salad, Beyond Chron, and the SF Chronicle. Educated at Rutgers College, N.J. (B.A. English) and U.C. Berkeley (Ph.D. English), Becker left university teaching (Northwestern, then U. Chicago) for business, founding SOTA Industries, a top American high end audio company he ran from '80 to '92. From '92-02, he was an anti-gravel mining activist while doing marketing, business and writing consulting. Since then, he seeks out insight, even wit in the shadows, without ideology or righteousness across the current mayhem of American politics.
