Comeuppance for the unindicted, domestic, rogue terrorist – and ex-president

“I disrupt foes like any warlord,/ Back me or face the next civil war.”

It was a dark, dismal, violent time,
High drama,  and no far-off clime;
Of Trump the Jan 6 Report makes clear:
A manic, reckless, failed racketeer.

Though staff and advisers yelled “Stop,”
Convinced his scatter-gun coup would flop,
Nothing short of divine puissance
Halts this scheme of wholesale vengeance.

Trump became the insurgent funnel
For creeps crawling from each tunnel;
Extremist automatons weren’t baffled,
Ablaze with guns, bludgeons and scaffold.

For years, this loser’s coup was brimming,
No one cheats this grifter from winning;
So came orders from General Trump,
“Steal back what was stolen – I’m no chump.”

Who’s shocked at replayed outlaw ways,
Defrauding marks trapped in his maze?
Routine, calculated Trump subversion:
Brewing venom, crime and coercion.

Since truth and fairness never mattered,
Plotters care not what got shattered.
Sure, cast out underhanded grandstanding,
Conquest comes to the last guy standing.

To up the ante booms one dire threat,
As he maxed out his high-risk bet;
“I disrupt foes like any warlord,
Back me or face the next civil war.”

The more the merrier, bust all dams
The Trumpster way: unending scams.
Behold the cumulative impact
Of deadly avalanches back to back.

Now exposure from absurd denials
Incites charges, even felony trials.
Detailing each Trump putrefaction
Begins our measure of retribution.

For over a decade, Robert S. Becker's independent, rebel-rousing essays on politics and culture analyze overall trends, history, implications, messaging and frameworks. He has been published widely, aside from Nation of Change and RSN, with extensive credits from OpEdNews (as senior editor), Alternet, Salon, Truthdig, Smirking Chimp, Dandelion Salad, Beyond Chron, and the SF Chronicle. Educated at Rutgers College, N.J. (B.A. English) and U.C. Berkeley (Ph.D. English), Becker left university teaching (Northwestern, then U. Chicago) for business, founding SOTA Industries, a top American high end audio company he ran from '80 to '92. From '92-02, he was an anti-gravel mining activist while doing marketing, business and writing consulting. Since then, he seeks out insight, even wit in the shadows, without ideology or righteousness across the current mayhem of American politics.
