Does not this heart-warming stunner/ Fortify the winners as frontrunner?

As losers perish for champs to thrive,
This aroused, history-making divide
Severed Trump’s crude barbarism
From civil, functional pragmatism.

The turning point, the Insurrection,
Divulged how violent genuflection
Defiled national law and order—
Unmasking a traitor/usurper.

What a midway point of redemption
Against Republican damnation!
The sovereign glory of elections
Decapitated Trump’s deceptions.

The totalitarian streak has peaked,
Though fallout leaves millions freaked;
Voters crushed election nullifiers
By decimating absurd deniers.

The great irony of Trump’s Big Lie—
The next fair vote that lie denies.
Democracy raked over attackers
Collaring the worst bushwhackers.

Iconic loser, Trump’s done for,
Laughable long-shot for twenty four;
Deranged, he hunts scapegoats to shame
While Biden consolidates his game.

No politician wins with nothing,
A farce of mere huffing and puffing;
Does not this heart-warming stunner
Fortify the winners as front-runner?

While nitwit Trumpers opened the door
Dems must smartly manage the encore.
They need not just a clearer vision
But far more focused, outreach mission.

For over a decade, Robert S. Becker's independent, rebel-rousing essays on politics and culture analyze overall trends, history, implications, messaging and frameworks. He has been published widely, aside from Nation of Change and RSN, with extensive credits from OpEdNews (as senior editor), Alternet, Salon, Truthdig, Smirking Chimp, Dandelion Salad, Beyond Chron, and the SF Chronicle. Educated at Rutgers College, N.J. (B.A. English) and U.C. Berkeley (Ph.D. English), Becker left university teaching (Northwestern, then U. Chicago) for business, founding SOTA Industries, a top American high end audio company he ran from '80 to '92. From '92-02, he was an anti-gravel mining activist while doing marketing, business and writing consulting. Since then, he seeks out insight, even wit in the shadows, without ideology or righteousness across the current mayhem of American politics.
