Exploring the mindsets of typical, fanatical Trump supporters: Part 3

This kind of subservient attitude and blind loyalty is unbelievable, beyond comprehension, it’s as if these Trumpsters may have been mind-conditioned.

It would be beneficial in this presentation to reference part one and part two, so that’s what we’ve done. I thought that, by this time, with Trump out of office, most of his supporters would have gone on with their lives, but they haven’t and that’s why we created part 3.

Let’s define the word mindset. “It’s the established set of beliefs and attitudes held by someone, it’s their way of thinking in given situations.”

“According to Dweck, there are two basic mindsets: fixed and growth. If you have a fixed mindset, you believe your abilities are fixed traits and therefore can’t be changed. On the flip side, if you have a growth mindset, you believe that your talents and abilities can be developed over time through effort and persistence.”

From personal observations and thoughts, I would have to conclude that these staunch Trump supporters have fixed mindsets. Why do I say that? Because, as Trump has stated, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters.”

Without any doubt, he wouldn’t lose any of his staunch voters and maybe he would gain even more. Nothing changes his supporters’ minds, absolutely nothing unless HE does something to change them. If he were the Captain of the USS Trump, and it was sinking, they would go down with him and the ship. If he had robbed a bank, they would insist that someone else did it.

After he was elected president in 2016, and after seeing him use the power of his office to begin the process of tearing down this nation’s democracy, Trump’s 75 million or so fanatical supporters should have run away just as fast as possible. But their attitude was, “Well, if that’s what he wants to do then that’s fine with us.”

That kind of subservient attitude and blind loyalty is unbelievable, beyond comprehension, it’s as if these Trumpsters may have been mind-conditioned. And I think that they were and still are.

After most of the American people saw what he really was like, he was exposed as a perpetual liar, a cheat, a master manipulator, a misogynist, and someone who never saw a law that he didn’t want to break. At that time, you would think that his supporters would have said, “enough is enough” but they didn’t, and stuck with him.

Didn’t his rabid followers see him as the authoritarian that he was? Didn’t they see him continually attacking this nation’s democracy and its Constitution and acting like he was “El Supremo?” If any law stood in his way he simply brushed it aside.

What were they thinking, anything at all? Maybe they should be thinking about changing their ways and doing what’s right for their country instead of Trump? Did that thought even enter their minds? Nope!

What should be more important to these political foot soldiers, allegiance to their masters of authoritarianism or the principles of ethics and morality? No doubt, they probably know what the right thing to do is, but they can’t seem to pull away from Trump, even when they understand the threats he poses to this republic.

Speaking of clowns and circuses, how could anyone in their right MIND support or even tolerate the likes of these Republican clowns? Marjorie Taylor Greene, Josh Hawley, Paul Gosar, Rand Paul, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, Ron Johnson, Rudy Guliani, Steve Bannon, and Mike Lindell, the pillow guy? All of these Republicans that perform in the Republican Clown Circus each and every day.

Here’s what really boggles my mind. Check out this headline: “GOP Efforts To Derail Climate And Health Care Bill.” Derail that bill? If there were any more critically important needs of America and its people, what might they be?

Right now, America is in the midst of a climate change eruption as we see a raft of huge, destructive floods, tornadoes, and monstrous fires. Our fragile climate is changing radically. This legislation and its very important climate initiatives are designed to alleviate those dangerous conditions. And Republicans want to derail the bill???

Then we have the health care part of the bill: “extending Affordable Care Act subsidies for three more years and the second is through allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices.” These two healthcare initiatives will help Americans to a great extent, and we heard that Republicans also wanted to derail both, but failed.

What about women’s rights and how the Supreme Court and Republicans in various red states have banned abortions? How many of these 75 million Americans, especially women, would agree that a woman has no right to control her own body, that she cannot and must not seek an abortion even when her life is in extreme danger, or the baby would be born with no chance to live?

What if the woman or a teenager was raped or the victim of incest, would she have no right to an abortion, no matter what? Have we in this country regressed to the point where women are under the total control of men in general, or husbands?

What kind of mindset do we think that most of this breed of Americans have, how would we describe them? Maybe, based on their actions and behavior, we could describe them as being subservient, submissive individuals that are under the spell of Trump and just don’t have it in themselves to break away.

THIS JUST IN: how about this astounding development? The FBI, early in the morning of Monday, June 8, conducted a court-authorized search at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago residence. News reports indicated that they were trying to retrieve government classified material that Trump had illegally brought to his home after he left office.

When he heard what had happened Trump said, “Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before.” And he was exactly right, for he is the first president who has broken the law time and again. This time he got caught.

Then I heard some Trump lackey state something like this: “well, if they can do that to him they can do it to any of us. Right again; if you do something like Trump does on a regular basis, then they will come for you too. And they should.

Will Trump, once again, be portrayed as a victim by all the excuse-makers that worship at his feet? I watched some of the Fox hosts wailing and gnashing their teeth, trying to make the FBI into the modern-day version of the Gestapo.

One thing is for sure, Republicans will do everything they can to use this against Democrats, to try to show that they are the equivalent of Nazi storm troopers. And Trump’s mind-conditioned supporters will see it as the truth and nothing but the truth.

Watching Jim Jordan, Lindsey Graham, and other Republicans rant and rave and demand explanations from the Justice Dept. is absolutely hilarious, they are making fools of themselves. AG Merrick Garland is doing exactly what he should, even while knowing that he will be greatly criticized. That takes real courage and dedication to his responsibilities.

If Trump is indicted, if a jury of his peers finds him guilty as charged, and a judge sentences him to 40 years in prison with no possibility of parole, these fixed mindset Trump loyalists will probably say the entire process was a hoax, the jury was rigged, and the judge was a Democrat.

So much for a fixed mindset.
