We Americans watch and listen to a president who, based on his ongoing erratic behavior, shows definite signs of very serious emotional problems and is having a very difficult time coping with them. All one needs to do is to watch his daily virus briefings and that will become quite evident.
It’s very troubling to witness an American president with those kinds of problems to be sure. Even though everyone who is observing his behavior can see this happening with their own eyes there are still many Americans, who in their state of denial, will simply say that this is not the case.
There are top-level psychiatrists from around the country who have concluded that he is mentally unstable. To see how they have come to this conclusion, something that I have written about before, check out the book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” by Bandy Lee and 26 of her fellow psychiatrists who have made that assessment of him. The book gives all the reasons why.
He is proving that what those learned psychiatrists have concluded is true, that he is, without question, a narcissist of the highest order, afflicted with paranoia, as well as possessing other associated psychiatric problems.
The national media, the press, TV, and radio watch and listen to what this president says each day. Don’t they see, don’t they understand that he has these serious problems that are getting worse all the time? Of course, they do, they would have to be blind not to see it. Then why don’t they just state that fact instead of remaining silent?
Because they have been muzzled and ordered to stay clear of making any such assessments about him. Why? Because most of the media is owned and controlled by Corporate America and these news organizations are totally dependent upon corporate commercials for their revenue. So, the word is: don’t say a word about it. Just let it go and don’t start trouble.
We have been waiting for him to “go over the top” and lose it and very recently he did on TV in front of the American people. Of all the many mindless, nonsensical, things he has done and has said relative to this virus he now has come up with the worst of all, suggesting that people could ingest some kind of a disinfectant that could successfully treat the virus. This is what he said:
“I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that,” he said.
Is that something that a mentally stable person would say? That wildly reckless statement should have set off the alarms across America. It should have but it didn’t.
When he was castigated by the press and others for that statement, he came up with the excuse that he was just being sarcastic with reporters, that he wasn’t really serious. Then he blamed the entire incident on the members of the press who he said had made it an issue.
That is about the most dangerous thing I have ever heard a president utter. Does he even begin to realize what he has done, how the American people could react? In no time at all governors in various states and poison control agencies were getting calls from citizens who were asking if it was all right to ingest Lysol cleaner or bleach in line with what the president had suggested.
So where in the world do we go from here, is there anything that can be done to deal with this presidential situation, the dangers it poses? The answer is that we really can’t do anything at this point except hope for the best and, as we keep hearing, use the November election to remedy the situation.
Republicans, of course, have the collective power to remedy the situation in various ways but they aren’t going to do a thing, they don’t possess the moral character that it would take.
We in America have a government that does not function in the way that the Founding Fathers intended it to, not at all. We have a president who must no longer be allowed to function as president because of his personal problems. But while the Founders created ways to remove him such as through impeachment or the 25th Amendment, the party in control refuses to even consider them.
Sure, as some would say we always have the opportunity to right a wrong by doing it via a presidential election, which in this case is only a few months away. But what if this was happening in the first year of a president’s term? Well, that could very well end in some kind of catastrophic event.
Right now we have a massive hole in our government, we have a president spinning out of control, and there is nothing we can do about it.
