Ok, here’s the deal: The entire mainstream media, print and electronic, is totally a sellout! The so-called Journalists of the Fourth Estate operate within the Neo-Con driven prism of this phony Two Party/ One Party scam. The so-called ‘News and News talk’ shows scoop out the shit of the Russian hacking probes, or the pro or anti-Trump rhetoric. Yes, a woman’s right to choose is a vital issue, indeed, along with the horrendous treatment of the undocumented and their kids. Yet, the elephant in the room has always been this Military Industrial Empire and how it is bankrupting us both fiscally and morally. Ever hear Chris Cuomo, Rachel Maddow or Sean Hannity or any of the bullshit talking heads on CNN, MSNBC or Fox ever mention this? Never! Too busy because their real agendas are to give us a blow by blow of the Republican vs. Democrat food fight!
One would hope that all the members of Trump’s family and administration, the entire Congress and of course the aforementioned media whores, would have to earn what the average American working stiff earns. Then, let them see how they like it when they cannot afford the health care they or their kids or grandkids need to stay vibrant and alive. Ditto for their teeth as well. As far as the fools among we working stiffs who still look up to these hypocrites… Sayonara! Just like with the phony wars this nation wages throughout the globe, let’s send all of the above who are military age, and all of their kids and grandkids, to that hornets’ nest in the desert. You would see how quickly those illegal excursions and occupations would end.
Aren’t even the folks who still celebrate this empire getting a bit weary? I mean, the bullshit mainstream media, getting their orders from this Military Industrial Empire, must sooner or later show themselves for what they are: whores! They stand behind our flag, MY flag, and salute what is done in your and my name… without our consent! They blow the trumpet for a new Cold War against the Russians and Chinese, all in the name of keeping the petrodollar afloat… but they’ll never admit that! They fill the television screens with retired Pentagon hack generals who now work for the corporate arms trade, or NeoCon interests. They put on the air phony so-called scholars or ex-elected officials who now work for the super rich run institutes and foundations. They run candidates who spew the same bullshit decade after decade about this being a free market democracy, pushing all the hot-button issues that never penetrate the empire’s force field. Yet, half of those who can vote do vote for these phonies… election after election. How many times have I heard good and decent friends tell me before this last presidential election “But the Green Party cannot win. You’re wasting your vote!”
Finally, look at the professional sports world. We have yuppie so-called ‘sports journalists’ carrying the water for those obscenely rich professional sports. I mean, the owners are making a bundle (so much so that the NFL Commissioner earns over $ 35 million a year), the sports media a bundle, the sports merchandisers a bundle, and the players are too. Who is paying for this? YOU are, when you go to a game, pay your cable bill or buy their licensed products… and of course when you go shopping for consumer items. Then, you have to sit and watch the Pentagon’s rah rah bang the military drums pre-game and halftime ceremonies. They honor our brave warriors when none of these military personnel should ever have been sent to those overseas countries to kill and be killed! How many times have you heard a media whore say to a current or ex-serviceman “Thank you for your service”? They should be saying that to a firefighter or school teacher or school psychologist.
Go out and get the 1976 film Network. Watch it, especially when the Peter Finch character tells the public what needs to be done.
