Bernie Sanders had his chance to question Betsy DeVos, Trump’s pick for Education Secretary, during which he accused her of only being picked due to her family’s contributions to the Republican party.

DeVos admitted that it was a possibility that her family gave $200 million to the Republican party, to which Sanders replied:

“My question is, and I don’t mean to be rude, but do you think, if you were not a multi-billionaire, if your family has not made hundreds of millions of dollars of contributions to the Republican party, that you would be sitting here today?”

DeVos cited her work with low-income families, but failed to mention her work with extremist groups that advocate child labor.
