Enraged liberals promise revolution in Democratic party

This election was a huge refutation of establishment politics, and it's time the political organization changed.

Many liberals in the Democratic Party are saying a “Tea Party-style revolt” needs to take place to avoid another repeat of what just occurred this last Tuesday. Progressives are holding the Democratic establishment responsible for Donald Trump’s win.

It is believed that this fight will start with a new leader for the DNC who is prepared to start the party over from scratch. People, like Bernie Sanders, are endorsing Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) – a Muslim and a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus – to become the next DNC chair.

Some are even suggesting splitting the Democratic party in half. “The Democratic Party can no longer be the same; it has been repudiated,” Robert Reich said on a conference call with members from the progressive grassroots group Democracy for America. “This has been a huge refutation of establishment politics and the political organization has got to be changed … if the Democratic Party can’t do it, we’ll do it through a third party.”

Once there is a new head of the DNC, the party can start focusing on rebuilding and preparing for the 2018 midterm elections.

Progressives are fighting hard for this change and are determined to make progress.
