During a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina on Tuesday, Donald Trump suggested that “Second Amendment people,” meaning gun-owners, could help prevent Hillary Clinton from winning the 2016 election.
“By the way, if she gets to pick her judges,” Trump said. “Nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”
Watch it here:
Trump’s poll numbers have been hastily slipping behind Clinton in the 2016 race, leaving him desperate to increase his support. To help himself, Trump has been promoting the idea that if Clinton wins, it’s because of voter fraud. This claim appears to be working as his supporters are increasingly believing the system could be rigged.
Trump’s campaign has recently released a statement after Trump’s 2nd amendment remarks saying: “It’s called the power of unification – 2nd Amendment people have amazing spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power. And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump.” – Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor
