The NRA has been caught paying 50 members of the Senate to vote against recent gun legislation that would expand background checks and ban terror suspects from buying firearms. They contributed a total of $36,290,699 to these Republican senators’ campaigns.
22 of the 50 Republican Senators paid are up for re-election this year. President Obama seems aware of the situation and stated: “They worried that the gun lobby would spend a lot of money and paint them as anti-second amendment.”
Many people spoke out on Twitter angry about the NRA influence and Senate decision:
You don’t get to talk “tough on terror” if you’re too afraid of the NRA to do anything about guns. You’re a coward.

If all Washington does is agree to disagree then we have failed to provide the leadership the American people want. #Enough #DisarmHate
