Obama’s recent Food and Drug Administration nominee, Dr. Michael Califf, will not be supported by Senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders believes Califf is too closely tied to Big Pharma.

“Dr. Califf’s extensive ties to the pharmaceutical industry give me no reason to believe that he would make the FDA work for ordinary Americans, rather than just the CEOs of pharmaceutical companies,” Sanders said in an official statement.
Califf was appointed deputy commissioner in the FDA last year and has served as a consultant to drug companies in the past. His involvement in Big Pharma leaves Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and many others concerned.
