Hillary Clinton Narrowly Wins in Nevada After a Very Confusing Caucus

After long lines, many issues of confusion, and too few ballots, it looks like Hillary Clinton has narrowly won the Nevada caucus. She will take home just a few more delegates than Bernie Sanders.

Clinton stated in her victory speech: “Thank you, Nevada. Some may have doubted us, but we never doubted each other.”

Many voters posted to social media that the lines were ridiculously long for a caucus, causing many to leave before they participated. On Twitter, the Sanders campaign urged people to hold out:

Many locations were also short on ballots, with some running out completely:

One precinct, 5616, had a Hillary for Nevada logo on their sign in sheet:

Also, the t-shirts the Clinton campaign switched to were eerily similar to those the National Nurses United union (which supports Sanders) members were wearing.

Even more confusing were Hillary supporters being allowed to participate without registering:

Bernie Sanders was quick to send out a positive message to his supporters, in which he still declared the results good news:

“The final results are in from Nevada and it looks like we’re going to leave another state with roughly the same number of delegates as Hillary Clinton, maybe down just a few.

I want to be completely clear with you about what this result means: Nevada was supposed to be a state “tailor made” for the Clinton campaign, and a place she once led by almost 40 points. But today, we sent a message that will stun the political and financial establishment of this country: our campaign can win anywhere.

There are 26 primaries and caucuses in the next month, and three straight positive results for our campaign are sure to prompt an over-the-top response from the millionaires and billionaires who are funding our opponent and her many super PACs.”
